Lift Off

A break in the rain. A warm, sunny Spring evening. A wide open field in the back of our house. And some old rocket parts dug out of storage. All combined for a fun evening together.

Meagan's first time ever launching rockets, so she got to go first.

Then Isaac...

Part of his rocket worked as designed...

The other part, not so much... it landed quite a distance off and stuck straight down into the ground, nose first. Needless to say, the parachute did not deploy properly.

My goofies...This is what happens when they KNOW their picture is being taken...

Sebastian was next...

And Isaac watching with great interest... this stuff totally fascinates him.

Part of the fun is running after the pieces once they've fallen back to earth.

Fun, but the burnt engines stink!

Will definitely have to restock on rocket engines and do that again. Very fun. Loved every minute of it! It is SOOOOO good to all be together on weekends again so that we actually CAN do stuff like this. This evening alone more than made up for the craziness of the relocation.
